Prep Time
This recipe takes about 10 minutes to prepare. You will need to gather all of the ingredients and have them ready to go. Once the ribs are in the Instant Pot, it will take about 25 minutes for them to cook.
Cook Time
Once the Instant Pot is up to pressure and the ribs are in the pot, it will take about 25 minutes for them to cook. You will then need to do a natural pressure release for about 10 minutes. This means that you will need to leave the Instant Pot alone for about 35 minutes total.
Ingredients
- 2-3 pounds of pork spare ribs
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
- 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
- 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1 cup of water
Instructions
First, prepare the ribs by removing the silverskin from the back of the ribs. This will help them to become tender and juicy. Next, mix together the garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, chili powder, and salt in a small bowl. Sprinkle the mixture over the ribs and rub it into the meat.
Add one cup of water to the Instant Pot and then place the trivet inside the pot. Place the ribs on top of the trivet and close the lid. Make sure the valve is in the sealed position. Cook the ribs on high pressure for 25 minutes.
When the ribs are finished cooking, allow the pressure to naturally release for 10 minutes. Then, you can carefully move the valve to the venting position to release the remaining steam. When all of the steam has been released, open the lid.
In a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. Brush the sauce over the ribs and then place the ribs back into the Instant Pot. Cook on high pressure for an additional 2 minutes.
Once the ribs are finished cooking, remove them from the Instant Pot and serve with your favorite sides. Enjoy!
