If you’re looking for an easy and delicious way to make beef short ribs, then this instant pot boneless beef short ribs recipe is perfect for you. This recipe is simple and easy to make, and can be prepared in a matter of minutes. It’s packed with flavor, and the beef short ribs are so tender that they practically melt in your mouth. Best of all, the entire dish can be cooked in the pressure cooker, so you don’t have to worry about babysitting it. If you’re looking for an amazing meal, this is the one.

Prep Time

This recipe takes about 10 minutes to prepare, and about an hour to cook in the pressure cooker. There is also a 10-minute natural pressure release, which means the total cooking time is about one and a half hours.

Ingredients

2 pounds boneless beef short ribs

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup red wine

1 cup beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Turn the pressure cooker to the sauté setting. Add the vegetable oil to the pot and let it heat up. Once the oil is hot, add the beef short ribs. Brown the short ribs on all sides, about 5 minutes per side. Once the short ribs are browned, remove them from the pot and set aside.

2. Add the onions and garlic to the pot and cook until the onions are soft and translucent, about 3 minutes. Add the red wine to the pot and deglaze the bottom of the pot. Allow the wine to cook for a few minutes until it has reduced by half its volume.

3. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper to the pot. Stir to combine.

4. Place the beef short ribs back in the pot. Close the lid and set the pressure cooker to high pressure for 60 minutes. Once the time is up, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before opening the lid.

5. Remove the beef short ribs from the pot and serve with the sauce. Enjoy!

Equipment

For this recipe, you will need a pressure cooker. Any size will work, but a 6-quart is ideal. You will also need a cutting board, a sharp knife, and a spoon or spatula for stirring.

Notes

Make sure to trim any excess fat off the short ribs before cooking. This will help make sure that your dish is not greasy. You can also substitute any red wine for the one called for in this recipe, such as a cabernet sauvignon or a merlot.
