Instructions
Begin by browning the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the beef is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes. Add the oregano, thyme, and basil, and cook for an additional minute. Add the diced tomatoes and tomato paste and cook for an additional minute. Add the beef broth, white rice, and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
While the sauce is simmering, prepare the cabbage. Chop the cabbage into small pieces and layer it in the bottom of a slow cooker. Add the cooked beef and the sauce and stir to combine. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-7 hours.
